CODE OF ETHICS
Editel S.p.A. undertakes to deal with all aspects of quality, health, safety and the environment as relevant aspects of its own business in all existing and future business activities, whether carried out directly or through contractors, and in defining new operating and construction methods.
Taking into account the continuous technological evolution, the increasingly careful and punctual needs of the market, of customers, of the organization and of the interested parties, of the growth of sensitivity of people and the community with regards to the quality, safety and environment, starting from the analysis of the context in which it operates and on the basis of the risks previously and periodically evaluated, the company intends to consolidate and develop its achievement with a primary attention to the involved parties, starting from the service providers that work on behalf of Editel.
To this end, the general management has defined the following strategic objectives of its policy for quality, safety and the environment, consistent with the analysis of the context and company strategies.
MEETING CUSTOMER NEEDS
Through:
- compliance with the required requirements (binding and non-binding);
- product and service reliability;
- customer, end user and all interested parties’ satisfaction, taking into account their needs, assessing the risks and opportunities connected and taking concrete actions to achieve the objective of monitoring the percentage of compliance with deliveries.
TRAINING AND RESOURCES
which form the basis for achieving the objectives for Quality, Safety and the Environment. The training of personnel, its motivation, the availability of adequate resources (plants, machinery, equipment for tests and controls, materials), the selection / growth of qualified suppliers, constitute the strength point for achieving the objectives set.
The fundamental aspects in the training of human resources are:
- culture, (as a change of mentality with regard to issues concerning Quality, Safety and the Environment);
- attitude (that is, as an approach to these issues and in interpersonal relationships);
- professionalism (basic and specific knowledge of individual activities);
- action (as the ability to perform one’s duties independently);
- compliance with legislative obligations.
STRATEGY AND IMPROVEMENT
The General Direction defines the objectives for Quality, Safety and the Environment, which it reviews at least once a year to verify its topicality and effectiveness for the purpose of continuous improvement and revision of its “policy”. The objectives are achieved only with the collaboration of all the company departments and with the involvement of the suppliers and the service providers.
Continuous improvement is fundamental, which can be achieved through the improvement of products, operational processes, organization, professionalism and culture, as well as through the reduction of non-conformities, the reduction of “non-quality” costs, maintenance constant of the security conditions, care for the environment and resources, the corporate image, which allow the acquisition of larger market shares, customer satisfaction and loyalty, appreciation and the trust of the community.
The General Management also considers the safeguarding of resources and compliance with the essential milestones for the performance of its business.
To this end, the company considers the following as essential:
Continuous compliance with compliance obligations, through an integrated management system that ensures compliance with legal and regulated requirements and their updates in its processes, products and services, through continuous and constant monitoring of the applicable provisions
Quality management by maintaining a leading position in terms of performance quality:
placing on the market only products that are able to satisfy the Customer;
the performance of its functions in a reliable and effective manner consistent with the needs and requirements of the Customer;
process improvement;
total involvement;
Environmental Management, with:
control/monitoring of energy consumption and natural resources, aimed at their containment and/or reduction;
Waste management, minimizing their generation and optimizing their transport and recycling, also by raising awareness among on-site workers;
decrease the impact of its activities on the surrounding areas, limiting dusty emissions into the atmosphere and noise, through good operating practices and latest-generation equipment;
safeguard the protection of soils and groundwater through a more careful management of liquids and anti-spill measures
or the implementation of measures to prevent environmental accidents and, in case of occurrence, guarantee an adequate response, through careful management of emergencies;
Security Management, through:
The control/monitoring of the work of workers and service providers aimed at compliance with regulations and the prevention of accidents and injuries;
involve all workers, also through their representatives, as well as external companies and contractors, in improving health and safety in the workplace through periodic awareness;
adopt and apply a structure and an operating system to identify possible emergencies by defining emergency procedures that involve the staff of external companies with their employees.
The tools to improve and to achieve the set goals are as a priority:
the organic and clear definition of the duties and responsibilities of the corporate functions;
the planning of the actions to be carried out;
carrying out the actions in accordance with the schedules;
the activity of monitoring the performance of the actions and the effective communication of the information necessary for their coordination;
the process controls on the work to be carried out in the critical phases and above all at the end of the work and before delivery;
periodic updating of company policy based on the evolution of the socio-economic and institutional context, disseminating the results;
motivation and training of personnel at all levels;
the responsibility of the Management and of each employee regarding Quality, Safety and the Environment both for their own work and for the satisfaction of their Customers;
internal Audits and periodic legislative compliance checks aimed at verifying the application of the integrated System.
Each Department Manager is responsible for:
COMPREHENSION SUPPORT IMPLEMENTATION
what is reported in this policy for the part of his/her competence within his/her service. The Management has the faculty to carry out periodic audits on:
comprehension implementation policy support within individual services.
The application of the above is a need felt and deemed necessary by all the Company’s members starting from the Management; the approaches must be pursued and must constitute a firm and binding commitment of the entire Company.
At least once a year the Management establishes whether to confirm, integrate or change the contents of the Policy.
To ensure the development, activation and maintenance of the Integrated Management System, the Management authorizes and delegates the Integrated Management System Manager to conduct, as its representative, the necessary inspection, surveillance and verification activities of the implementation and effectiveness of the System procedures. He must keep the Management informed of the state of the Management System
and of the measures taken to ensure its effectiveness.
Through the above, starting from an accurate risk assessment, the company intends to seize the improvement opportunities needed to improve its production process, the quality of the product supplied, the health and safety of workers and environmental performance.
The management is committed to leading and controlling the implementation of the objectives, creating the conditions so that this culture can develop in a profitable and responsible way at all company levels.
The employees of Editel S.p.A. and the staff of external companies, each according to their responsibilities and responsibilities, are required to comply with this policy being the respect of what is reported an integral part of the job of each and an element of judgment of the work of the employees and of the quality of services provided by third parties.
